Mr Colin came in today to teach the students how to use seesaw. The students will now be able to post their work on seesaw when they are finished.

Important Information

Leadership Notebooks

As you can see we are using the leadership notebooks already. Today you will find two sections have been added to their binder. Goal Setting and Be A Leader. We have already put our first quarter classroom leadership role in our binder under this tab. Please remember to send the binder to and from school everyday. Please check the binder for important papers daily. Tomorrow we will be creating our class mission and personal mission. Look for these tomorrow. 

Homework Log

Remember to look for the homework log each night. It has the block schedule, any homework listed and a place for us to communicate, and a place for you to sign your initials. 

Reading Goals

We have set a school wide goal for 1.5 million reading minutes! Look for a calendar starting in September to start tracking your child's reading minutes. 

Spelling Words:

We are assessing spelling words in class. We will start spelling in September. Each student will have 5 spelling words. The tests are on Fridays. 

Homework

Read 10 minutes nightly for homework and practice their spelling words. 

Birthday Celebrations

Your child may bring in something non-food related to share with the class if they choose. They will get a birthday pencil from the office, a birthday table top decoration from me and a chance to bring something in for show-n-share.

This year, curriculum information will be shared electronically instead of being presented live during Curriculum Night events. Parents, please adjust your calendars accordingly.

First Day!

We had a great first day! We talked about our marble jar, had two recesses, we graphed our way to school, and we learned about seesaw! Make sure to check out your child's pictures on seesaw!

Your child has a brown paper bag and directions for them to make a me bag to bring to school tomorrow. Your child's leadership notebook came home today. Please look inside and sign it daily and keep all the papers at home. I'll check those every morning.
