We are starting our How to's Unit in Writing.
We are starting our Word Detectives Unit in Reading.
After Thursday we will have finished Chapter 1 in Math. We will test over chapter 1 next week Tuesday. Look for a study guide on Thursday or Friday of this week.
On Friday we release at 11:50 (no lunch). Please let me know if your child is going home a different way. Also we are going to be taking a school wide picture and would like the students to wear their Ignite shirts for the picture.
On Monday we started the cookie dough fundraiser. Your child might be talking about trying to earn a Garfield.
The box top challenge is underway and we are in second place so far. Awesome job! Let's keep those box tops coming in.
We are going to change spelling a bit. We are still going to have a spelling principle but the principle will no longer come home. We will continue doing the work with the spelling principle in the classroom and will not test over the spelling principle anymore. The spelling test will only be over their 5 snap words. We will start this next Friday. I will give some suggestions at the bottom of the snap word page for you to work with your child on their snap words. If you already have a way you are practicing and it is working please share with me and I can add it to the page
The students wish list has gotten smaller :) They would still love to have 3 more bean bags for the room and flashlights to read in our tent.
Thanks for everything you guys are doing and I am looking forward to seeing everyone at conferences at the end of the month.
